2013 is a huge year in gaming. I'm looking forward to a few games, but bigger than that the race to release the next-gen consoles is on. Personally, I'm an Xbox fan (no offense to PS3 users), and I'm really looking forward to hearing about the next big console. There are so many rumors out there that it's hard to tell what is true and what is not. Few that I believe are true is obviously there will be upgraded hardware for better graphics (as Halo 4 [favorite game] was pushing the limits on the 360's graphics), and there should be a kinect that comes with every system. I don't want kinect to so much as get games like Just Dance 4 (love that game), but more so now that games are including mini bonus features with the kinect.
There are some games I'm looking forward to as well throughout the year, and I'm sure when E3 rolls around there will be plenty more I want. I pre-ordered Dead Space 3, I plan to do a review, first impressions, that kind of stuff. Next I am really thrilled for Dead Island: Riptide. Easily the first Dead Island was one of my favorites. I spent countless hours with Magrum using the weapons mods and just having a blast. Rider White DLC scared the crap out of me, it was pretty sweet.
Currently those are the only games this year that I am 100% sure I have to get. The new Xbox is at the top of my list, and as far as I know there aren't a ton of games out just yet. I'm considering getting GTA V, another game that I've never played any of the series (I did play Red Dead Redemption & L.A. Noire). The only other game that I can think of would be the next Call of Duty that comes out in November. Will it be on the new Xbox? I certainly hope so.
The last thing I can think of is what am I going to do on this blog over the next year. I'm no celebrity gamer or youtube star (shout out to Tobuscus), so I don't get top releases. I do plan to review as many games as I can that I manage to get, as well as movies I see or apps on tablets and such. If you want reviews from a simple gamer instead of a company looking at it in a business perspective, read this blog. Comment any games that I should be aware of that I should check out.
