Titanfall, simply Titanfall

Now we're finished with Gamescon, and the fanboy war has heated up a little bit, but I'm not a big fanboy, I really love both systems. There is one game that seems to be appealing to all sides, and it looks to definitely be the first game to really say "next-gen" to a lot of people. That game is obviously Mario Kart 8. No, Mario Kart is fun but the game I'm talking about (from the title) is of course: Titanfall. I've seen this game stand out to everyone as this shining cool new game, and I can't agree more.
I'll say right now, no, if you don't like FPS shooters then I don't expect you to like this game. What I do hope is that you recognize to everyone who does like FPS games that this game is gonna be big, REALLY big. A lot of people may say they've seen the gameplay and it doesn't look super interesting, but all the hype is coming from people who have played the game, and thats why it rings true that Titanfall won not only E3, but Gamescon as well. Something has to start clicking if Titanfall not only wins both these conferences, but beats the E3 record for the most awards won including 'Best of Show'.
If you're still interested, then what is the game about? This game is a really fast paced shooter that's multiplayer only with a story aspect added and some mechs are thrown in there. Now that sounds like a lot for one sentence, but in a sense, that wraps up the game, but a sentence could wrap up any game by not putting in the little details. The idea that you can just keep moving, you jump up to this wall over here, jump off an run along this billboard, then land on the roof with your rocket launcher, lock onto a titan, fire, it sees you and immediatly you book it seeing that two more soldiers have just parkoured up to your roof and you gotta get our of there or find a way to kill them from cover. That is the fast paced action FPS players love, those epic moments of all out war.
This game is premiered on the Xbox One, but will also be coming to Xbox 360 and PC. A lot of people have said "I'm not worried, we'll get it in a year" for those that want it on PS4. The thing is it doesn't sound like it is based on the publisher's perspective currently, but that doesn't mean it won't, but they've said why it's better for them to keep it on Xbox right now. Also the thing about timed exclusives is if games come out years after it's initial release, does it really get the tons and tons of hype it deserves? I mean it's old news. When the first Mass Effect made it to Playstation 5 years or so later, did everyone freak out like it was launching for the first time? Not really, it had been out for so long already. Even with small things like the Call of Duty DLC that launches first on Xbox, everyone freaks out trying to find all the zombies easter eggs and play the crap out of it, but then a month later it launches on PS3, but it doesn't have the same hype. Yes playstation fans rejoice, but honestly it doesn't have the same spark, it has been out already, and it makes a much much smaller debut. The only thing I'd say for Playstation users is hope the sequel comes to Playstation, because an old game relaunching that isn't a remake won't feel the same.

  1. Call of Duty players will be right at home here. The core feel is similar, though my initial impression is that using the iron sights in Titanfall isn’t nearly as critical to success as it is in the Modern Warfare series Zampella left behind. titanfall
